Legal Advisor
The National Security Council's legal bureau is involved in the operation of all Council divisions, and takes an integral part in staff work coordinated by the NSC. The Legal division is headed by attorney Roy Keidar.
Major projects:
  • Immigration to Israel and its implications on the Citizenship Law and entry into Israel
  • Legal aspects related to the Disengagement plan
  • Regulation of Bedouin settlements in the Negev
  • HQ work related to the allocation of personnel to the police
Division activities:
  • Legal accompaniment of NSC operations
  • Participation in writing policy document when necessary
  • Follow-up of legal procedures in Israel and abroad related to the field of activity of the Council
  • Consolidation of government resolutions
  • Preparing recommendations for relevant amendments to legislation and involvement in legislation processes in the Knesset
  • Accompanying legal procedures concerning the NSC
  • Representing the NSC in legal forums in the Prime Minister's Office, subordinate units, defense authorities and the Knesset, as well as parallel legal bodies in foreign countries
  • Preserving the binding work norms in accordance with the dictates of law, the Public Service regulations and proper management rules.
