The Security Policy Division of the National Security Council coordinates the handling of those aspects of security that are connected with national security.
|

| The Division's roles include: |

Leading the national security situation assessment – a systemic integrative assessment of the processes and trends expected in the field of national security at all its levels.

Leading staff work in the fields of security policy.

Formulating position papers on issues concerning the security concept and security policy.

Coordinating staff work in the fields of weapons proliferation and control.

Coordinating staff work in the fields of internal security policy and the civilian Home Front.

Coordinating activities in the field of intelligence at the National Security Council (NSC) and with intelligence agencies.
-
Coordinating and characterizing the National Crisis and Emergency Management Center (NMC) and integrating it into the Prime Minister's Office.

Operating the national Situation Room and producing periodic reports.
