| The National Security Council's Mission |
Conducting integrative staff work for the foreign and security affairs of the Prime Minister and the Government of Israel.
As part of this function, the Head of the NSC also serves as an advisor to the Prime Minister on national security issues.

| The Vision of the National Security Council |
The National Security Council shall serve as the staff forum for the Prime Minister and the Government of Israel, with the aim of promoting Israel's national security in the most professional manner on the basis of the National Security Council Law and the values represented in Israel's Declaration of Independence;
Shall serve as a locus for attracting the best minds in the field and shall serve as a professional counsel to the Government Ministers.
